Wow--a fabulous read! Emotional, poetic, and informative. It helped me understand the politics of pre-apartheid South Africa. And I really loved the character of the pastor Stephen Kumalo, a humble man who recognizes his own weaknesses and loves his homeland.

Giant cylinders, Metallic crabs, cylindrical seas! Amazing visuals. The science contained in this book, to me, was interesting enough to ingore the characters I believed to be lacking. I especially enjoyed the idea of how much humans would evolve to adapt on different planets. Still, the book was a mystery that I'm glad wasn't solved.
