I was relucant to read this, as I have read so much about the Lost Generation and their wild Paris years -- Hemingway, Scott and Zelda, the Murphys, Stein and Toklas, Dos Possos, Sylvia Beach and Ezra Pound -- that I was dubious about a fictionalized account. But this was masterful.
I read this book when I was thirteen and loved it. I remember empathizing with Jen and really appreciating the details of her life in Wales--the cold and the boiled food, the mythology and isolation.
