One of my favorites, but because of the language - none of the characters are particularly appealing, but in french this is so pleasing to read.

** spoiler alert ** I didn`t like this as much as the first one but still a good series. very dark. the second half of the book was very slow and didnt really have a plot... Sadima was just going around, marrying random guys and not knowing her identity. i was so sad when she didn`t know who Micah was.

Tales of exploration. Of physical nature and of the mind. These things appeal to me. Growth throughout life. This appeals to me. Leaving and escaping life love and the importance of interaction. This does not appeal to me. This book was great at times but trying. Krakauer tries to paint the image but becomes a bit overstated in his exuberance. If not for the mirrored and repetitious layout throughout this book it would be recommended. Nevertheless I don't regret the read for the inspiration behind those appealing moments.
